My name is Kristina Salmela.
I have been a teacher of Finnish-as-a-second-language for over ten years. Starting 2008, I have been teaching people who have moved or are intending to move to Finland. I mainly work with adult students, but I have experience in working with children as well.
At the present moment, the main forms of teaching are private lessons through Skype and webinars.
In 2008 I graduated from Petrozavodsk State University as a translator and a teacher of Finnish-as-a-second-language.
In 2015 I completed a Master’s degree in the University of Eastern Finland in the field of “Russian language and culture”. Additional specialties: Finnish-as-a-second-language and pedagogy.
A few years ago I have registered my company “SuVen T.O.P. Suomen ja venäjän tulkkaus ja opetuspalveluita” which offers teaching and translation services. You can check out my teaching portfolio here.
In addition to offering Finnish-language lessons, I teach Russian as a second language, create educational video materials and manage Finnish-learning Facebook groups “Enjoy Finnish” and “Финский с удовольствием”.
Contact me if you are looking for a private teacher. I will gladly answer your questions.
